Welcome back to the second term of this academic year. It has been lovely to see students back in college, refreshed from the break. This half term sees Year 13 mock exams taking place. Please remember to be prompt for your exams and, just to clarify, there is no study leave for mock exams.
On Wednesday 10 December, we have Year 13 Parents' Evening, where performance in mock exams will be discussed alongside reviewing final predicted grades.
If any Year 13 student is planning on applying to university, can we please remind you that applications need to be completed by 1 December. Tutors, Head of Year and Student Services can all help with this if you are not sure what to do.
Next week we have an Open Evening for next year's Year 12. This is running on Thursday 13 November from 5 - 8pm. If you know anyone who may be interested in coming, please let them know. We are also offering guided tours during the school day for any students who would like to see the college in action.
On Wednesday 26 of November we have our Christmas Quiz. These quizzes were incredibly popular last year, so do come along and enjoy a fun evening with our community. It is hosted in our main hall between 7.00 - 9.00 pm.
Finally, can I remind you that attendance is really important and good attendance is classified as being over 95%. In the coming week, we will send out attendance certificates, which will highlight students' attendance lesson by lesson to parents of students who have attendance of less than 90%. This is to ensure everyone is clear about what individual attendance is looking like and where there may be any concerns arising.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Phil Pearce-Jones
