The term is now very much underway with Year 13 completing their mocks and those students wanting to start an Apprenticeship or go to University completing their UCAS applications. A reminder that the deadline for applications to be completed is 1 December.
On Tuesday, as a college community, we went and supported the Royal British Legion remembrance service in St Thomas's Square for Armistice Day. It was lovely to see our community be a part of this. More details can be found below, and we were also mentioned in the County Press article.
This week we have also held our Open Evening for prospective students. This was very well attended, and we are looking forward to receiving applications for the next cohort. This year we are also offering tours around the VI Form for students interested in joining us on these dates:
Wednesday 26 November
Tuesday 2 December
Tuesday 9 December
Tuesday 20 January
Wednesday 28 January
All tours start at 9.30 am and can be booked through the website. Please share these dates with anyone you think may be interested in joining us next year.
My sincere thanks to all the students who supported this event by giving up their time to share how passionate they are about the subjects they are studying and their general experiences of being a VI Form student. They were all fantastic ambassadors.
Finally, we are rolling out our new vision for The Island VI Form. Students will see visuals going up around the site and I will also be discussing this in assembly. Our new tag line will be: 'Together we inspire. Together we discover, together we flourish'. More information on our vision can be found here.
Have a lovely weekend!
