28 November 2025

Weekly Updates from The Island VI Form

We have made it to the end of November and Christmas is just around the corner. It is hard to believe that we are almost already at the end of another year. On that note, a couple of reminders:

- From 6 December, our Foundation Art and Design students will have a sculpture exhibition on display at Quay Arts. Please do pop in and have a look at their fantastic work.

- On Thursday 11 December we have our Christmas dinner. If students would like to sign up, they have until next Friday to do so. Also on that day we will be taking part in Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children, so a donation of a £1 on that day would be appreciated.

- On Friday 19 December we are finishing for the Christmas holidays at 12.35pm. We will return on Monday 5 January 2026.

This week we held a really successful Christmas Quiz night organised and hosted by Student Voice and they raised £389.45, the profits will be split between the local Food Bank and the Year 13 Prom. To continue supporting the Island Food Bank, we will collect food donations which can be handed into reception. More information will come out about this next week, particularly which items are most in demand in the lead up to Christmas.

Please don't forget to sign up for appointments for the Year 13 Parents' Evening on Wednesday 10 December, 4-7pm. Appointments can be made through Arbor.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all in December!

Christmas Quiz

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported our Christmas Quiz on Wednesday 26 November, organised by our fantastic Student Voice Team.

We were delighted with the brilliant turnout and are proud to share that the event raised £389.45 for two deserving causes: the Isle of Wight Foodbank, whose services are especially vital at this time of year, and our Year 13 Prom.

A huge thank-you to all who attended and fully embraced the Christmas spirit. The festive jumpers on display certainly added to the fun! Student Voice member Scarlett Ford said, “It means so much to us to have had so many students, teachers and families come to the quiz, and we hope to see you all again at our next event.”

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from the Island VI Form Student Voice Team!
