Weekly Updates from The Island VI Form

We enjoyed two wonderful events this week that highlighted the incredible talents of our school community. On Monday, the Year 13 Fashion Show showcased our students' extraordinary creativity, followed by our delayed Annual Awards Evening on Tuesday, where we celebrated their remarkable accomplishments.

As we enter the final week of the academic year, please remember that school will close at 12:30 PM on Friday, 24th July. It is crucial that we maintain strong attendance right up to the final day to set our students up for future success.

Next week, students will also receive their trial exam results.

For further details on results day, the start of the upcoming term, and key updates for next year, please refer to my recent letter.

Finally, we want to send our warmest wishes to the students embarking on the trip to Mozambique. We hope you have an unforgettable adventure and look forward to hearing all about your journey when you return.

Have a wonderful weekend!

VI Awards Evening

On Tuesday 14th July, we held our annual Awards Evening, celebrating the achievements, dedication and successes of our students throughout the year. During the evening, students received subject awards alongside recognition for Adversity, Community Life and the Head of School Award for both Year 12 and Year 13.

We were delighted to welcome the Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Nigel Hartley MBE, who presented the awards and shared some inspiring words with our students.

Alongside the Awards ceremony, guests had the opportunity to view an exhibition of students’ work, showcasing the exceptional quality, creativity and variety of talent within our VI Form community.

We are incredibly proud of all our students and their achievements, and the evening provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work and successes with family, friends and our wider community.

Congratulations to all of our award winners, and thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion.

Year 13 Prom

On Thursday 9 July, the Island VI Form students celebrated the end of their A-level journey in unforgettable style at Languard Manor with a magical canopy of fairy lights setting the perfect atmosphere. Throughout the night, the dance floor stayed packed as a live DJ spun a fantastic mix of old-school throwbacks and current chart-topping hits.

The catering was also a major highlight, with a pizza vendor keeping everyone fed with a continuous supply of hot, freshly prepared slices.

Everyone looked incredible in their finest attire, and with a professional photographer documenting the event, it was truly a night to remember. Although the festivities wrapped up at midnight, the memories will certainly endure.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped organise this spectacular event—and we wish our graduating class the very best of luck on their upcoming journeys!

We are incredibly grateful to Adam Pearson for photographing the event. Year 13 students have been sent the link to view and purchase these photos on the APV Services website.
