We have now completed our first full week of term and it is lovely to see so many students engaging well in their studies.
Our attendance has got off to a strong start with us performing higher than the national average in both Year 12 and 13. Attendance is SO important, because it is really hard to make up for lost work. If you are absent, please make sure you are emailing in asking for the work.
Please remember that tutor time is compulsory. These periods are vital in setting up students for life post full-time education. During these sessions, students develop their study skills, learn how to look after their physical and mental health, receive careers guidance, university and apprenticeship support and, finally, have some time with tutors so that they can check in on any concerns they may have.
Finally just a bit of house keeping from me today:
- Please be aware that we are not a nut-free school. It is very difficult for us to regulate what other students might bring in food wise.
- When a student does not have a lesson, this is a study period that students should use for completing homework, utilising 'my super curricular' and taking part in wider reading. Study periods can be utilised on or off site.
- If you require financial support, a bursary form can be picked up from reception. If you had a bursary last year, you still need to reapply this year.
- When logging on Arbor, please use the Medina Arbor rather than the VI Form.
- On Monday we have Year 12 photos taking place.
- Lastly, we have a number of single cubicle toilets around the site that any student who is questioning their gender, or anyone wanting more privacy, can access.
Have a lovely weekend!
