Weekly Updates from The Island VI Form

Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday and gave so generously to the Save the Children campaign. Our total amount raised was £160.37 but Arbor remains open over the weekend if you would still  like to make a donation.

It was a wonderfully festive occasion, made all the more special by a traditional Christmas Dinner in the canteen. It was fantastic to see our community together, enjoying the celebrations. A huge thank you to Ali and her team in the kitchen for all their hard work.

Thank you, also, to our Year 13 parents/carers who attended Parents' Evening this week. By working in partnership between home and school, we can ensure students have the best possible chances of success in their exams next summer.

By now, all students applying to university next year should have submitted their applications for internal checking. If you are yet to do so, or if you need any extra support, please make sure you speak to the team in Student Services early next week.

It is hard to believe that we have just one week left of term. Lessons continue as normal right up until the end of the week, finishing slightly earlier than usual at 12.35 pm on Friday 19 December. Don't forget that we have our Food Bank collection in Reception and would encourage you to donate to this next week, if you are in a position to do so.

Finally, a reminder that our Christmas Fair will take place on Wednesday 17 December from 2.45 pm. The event is supporting fundraising for next year’s Mozambique trip and will include games, crafts, refreshments, a raffle, and a tombola. Everyone is welcome – please do spread the word!

Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Phil Pearce-Jones
Head of School
