Weekly Updates from The Island VI Form

I would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our students as we enter the Spring Term. I very much hope that you all had a restful holiday period.

This term marks the last full term for Year 13 as they are now very much on their final countdown to their exams. There will be one more set of mock exams at the end of February.

Next week, ticket sales will open for the Year 13 Prom, which will be at Landguard Manor on the 9th July.

Parents of Year 12 will shortly receive their first set of monitoring grades. These will show their final predicted grades and also measure student engagement. Year 12 Parents' Evening is at the end of March.

Finally, next week we start the interview process for next year's Year 12, so if you know anyone who is intending to apply, can you please encourage them to do this as soon as possible.

Have a lovely weekend!

Degree Apprenticeships Talk with The University of Portsmouth

On Thursday morning, a group of 50 Year 12 students attended an informative webinar delivered by the University of Portsmouth, focusing on degree apprenticeships.

Marcus from the university explained what degree apprenticeships are, what they involve, who they are suitable for, and how students can apply. He also outlined the advantages and potential challenges of this pathway.

The session provided students with a valuable insight into an alternative route they may choose to pursue after Year 13.
