We are already halfway through half-term, and it is hard to believe that in 3 weeks it will be February half-term.
Before half-term we will be having a lockdown drill. A lockdown drill, although not compulsory for educational settings, it is strongly advised. During tutor time, students will be given advice about how they should respond to a lockdown drill. In very basic terms, when a lockdown drill alarm is sounded, students will need to go to the nearest staffed classroom where the door will be locked until the all clear is given. There are many reasons why we can have a lockdown, a few examples are:
- There is a medical emergency in one of the corridors and it is not safe to have students moving around the site.
- There is a health and safety issues, such as an overflowing drain, flooding etc.
- There is an intruder onsite and we need to lockdown till they are safely escorted off site.
Year 13 should now have a draft exam timetable to indicate when their next set of mock exams will be - there are paper copies of this timetable for students in the student services office. This week the Year 12 students have had their monitoring data sent home via email. If you have any concerns please contact the student's teacher directly.
Have a lovely weekend
