Welcome back to the last half term of the school year. I really hope you all managed to enjoy the hot weather during the half term break.
Year 13 exams are still well underway and students are now on study leave. Please remember that you still may be required to come in for BTEC subjects. After the last exam, the Year 13 lanyards will be deactivated and students will only be able to enter the college by coming into the reception and signing in. A Levels results day is on Thursday 13th August from 8.30am - 12.30pm.
As Year 12 exams approach at the end of June, students are currently in a critical period of preparation. The outcomes of these assessments are significant, as they assist in determining a student's eligibility to progress into Year 13. In preparation for their future pathways, Year 12 students have begun registering with the UCAS portal. We have asked all students to sign up at this point so they can explore all the options open to them. There is no pressure for every student to apply to university. To assist parents in understanding the process and supporting their children, we are hosting a parent information evening on Thursday 11 June from 5 to 6pm.
Several notable dates are approaching on our calendar. Our annual awards evening is scheduled for Jun 24, 2026; invitations for award recipients in both Year 12 and Year 13 will be distributed shortly. Additionally we are closed for the Isle of Wight Festival on Friday 19th and Monday 22nd of June.
Finally, congratulations to our Young Enterprise Team who made it to the national finals this week. They were awarded the Delta Air Lines Pursuit of Opportunity Award. We are exceptionally proud of you. You can read a full report of the day further down in this newsletter.
