Weekly Updates from The Island VI Form

Welcome to October! With just two weeks remaining, this half-term has flown by. Prior to the half-term break, progress reports for Year 12 students will be shared, highlighting their course engagement along with classwork and homework completion.

Following the half-term break, Year 13 students will undertake their initial trial examinations. This key assessment will help gauge their readiness for the upcoming final exams. Concurrently, the UCAS application process is underway for those aiming to attend university, with all submissions required by December 1st.

We are excited to launch our recruitment window for the upcoming Year 12 cohort! Mark your calendars for our Open Evening on Nov 12 5:00 PM–8:00 PM. If you know any prospective students or families who would love to be part of our community, please help us spread the word!

Have a lovely weekend

STEM ACTIVITIES

For the past two weeks, our STEM students have been exploring metal ion identification using flame tests. They began by observing the visible flame colours with the naked eye, followed by spectroscopic analysis to examine the unique emission spectra produced when each element is thermally excited.
