Welcome back to the summer term. It is hard to believe that we are already two thirds through the academic year! This half term is a very exciting but important half term for Year 13 as they start their final exams. Study leave starts for Year 13 on Monday 19 May and not before. Until that point, all students are expected to be attending. After the 19 May, Year 13 may be expected to still come in for lessons they still have exams in or BTEC lessons where there is outstanding coursework.
A gentle reminder about the student carpark: can students please register their cars with reception if they intend to bring them in please. This is a requirement of being able to park there.
Congratulations to Erin in Year 12 who has successfully completed her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award! Also thank you to Lydia and Jacob who have been looking after our students from Thailand for the last two school weeks.
Next week is another busy week for us. We have 60 German students joining us for the week. They will be going into lessons in the morning and experiencing our education system. On Monday, as part of our enrichment programme, we have a visit from the Prison Service. On Tuesday, we have visitors from The Island Free School and, finally, on Friday, we have a visit from Baroness Bennett from the House of Lords.
I wish you all a safe and relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.
