The Island VI Form is an outstanding VI Form provision offering quality post 16 education for the entire Isle of Wight. We pride ourselves on being able to offer a wide breadth of A levels and vocational courses that allow students maximum life opportunities. Our learning facilities are of a standard to rival any learning institution in the country, and our central location offers great transport links.
The Island VI Form is an ideal bridge between school and higher education or employment, and gives students more freedom and responsibility. Students are encouraged and supported to become adults. We facilitate their development of the study and work skill sets needed for university or the world of work.
We are committed to ensuring our students are on the right pathway for them. Our classroom activities steer students to become active, inquisitive and independent learners.
If you are looking for a VI Form that has high expectations, helps unleash potential and provides holistic support for its students, then I strongly encourage you to visit us to see the community that we have to offer.
Phil Pearce-Jones
Head of School - VI Form
I am delighted to hold the post of Executive Headteacher at The Island VI Form and to welcome you to our college.
We are committed to supporting students on the next stage of journey, enabling them to become independent and successful on their journey towards adulthood. The Island VI form offers an ambitious range of options for post-16 with the added benefit of a historic setting in the centre of Newport. Our broad and ambitious offer allows students to explore a range of pathways including both university led and vocational. This also includes the opportunity to explore several career pathways both on the Isle of Wight and the mainland.
As part of HISP multi-academy Trust, we value ambition, courage, sustainability, equity, excellence and most importantly pupils first. This means we put our students at the heart of every decision we make. I am proud to work alongside the wider leadership team, teachers, support staff and non-teaching staff, to provide an environment that recognises the strengths of every student, providing an opportunity for all to succeed.
