LGBTQ+ History Installation for School Diversity Week
As part of of School Diversity Week, we were fortunate to have Franko Figueiredo from Stone Crabs come in to work with a few our students in putting in place a permanent installation celebrating the local and national History of the LGBTTQ+ community.
This is such an important issue for us as a community to shine a light on. Not only in raising awareness of the fight that has taken place in securing equal rights, but the fight that continues to take place. The installation was also important in developing a sense of connectiveness to our local community. As a provision that serves the whole of the Isle of Wight this was very important to us.
We are proudly displaying this installation in our Student Common room and we very much hope students will find it not only insightful but be proud to have such recognition so prominently in our community.
