Year 12 Geography Experiences

It has been a very busy few weeks for Year 12 geographers. They have been undertaking coastal and urban fieldwork in Ventnor and Portsmouth. This is invaluable for them to gain experience of 'real life' geography linked to coastal management and regeneration of urban areas. Students had the opportunity to develop their fieldwork skills by carrying out surveys and other data collection techniques.

We were also fortunate to host Dr Sabine Wulf from the School of the Environment and Life Sciences at Portsmouth University for a physical geography inspired session. Students participated in a coastal map activity and completed an assessment of the UK's hazard risks. They also gained an insight into studying geography at Portsmouth and the potential career opportunities available for geography graduates.
