Visit from Richard Quigley, MP for Isle of Wight West

As part of UK Parliament Week 2025, Richard Quigley MP visited students at The Island VI Form to talk about his role as the MP for Isle of Wight West, and the work of the UK Parliament.
During the visit on Friday, 28 November, Richard spoke about his journey into politics, and his work and priorities as an MP. Richard also answered numerous questions from students on a wide variety of current topics, from the recent budget to ideas about the reform of parliament.
Students from the A Level government and politics course and from across the wider VI Form got to hear first-hand about the workings of Parliament, and the role MPs play in writing legislation, scrutinising the government, debating important issues, and representing their constituents.
Thank you to Richard Quigley MP for giving up his time to visit our students and support our enrichment programme.
