Art Trip to Tate Modern & Theatre Picasso

On Tuesday 9 December, our A-Level Art and Foundation students had an early start as they travelled by coach to London to visit Tate Modern and the Theatre Picasso exhibition, supporting their art and design studies.

The trip offered students the opportunity to experience modern and contemporary artworks first-hand, exploring a diverse range of media, themes, and curatorial approaches. At Tate Modern, students engaged with works by influential artists, gaining valuable insight into contemporary practice.

The Theatre Picasso exhibition provided a unique perspective on Picasso’s work, featuring paintings, sculpture, textiles, and works on paper — some of which had never been exhibited in the UK before. The visit proved both inspiring and educational, supporting coursework development and encouraging students to think more broadly about their own creative practice.

Following the exhibitions, students enjoyed taking in London’s iconic sights during a walk along the South Bank before returning to the coach.
