On Wednesday morning, three representatives from GKN in East Cowes came to deliver a series of workshops to our Year 12 and 13 students about apprenticeship opportunities within the company. 

Several groups of students heard about opportunities in the civil and military aircraft industries, including engineering and management roles that had possible international elements attached to them. An ex Island VI Form student, Ruby, spoke about her journey at GKN and the opportunities she had received.

This was a fantastic opportunity for students who are seeking an alternative to university, with fantastic potential for further learning and career development.
