Head of School’s Blog – 14 June 2024
Dear Students, Parents & Carers
We are over half way through the Year 13 exam period. The last contingency day that all students should be available for any nationally rescheduled exams is Wednesday 26 June.
Year 12 exams start in just over 2 weeks time, so make sure you have got your individual exam timetables from main reception. Your revision should now be focused on repetition that burns your revision notes into your long term memory.
We are also 2 weeks away from welcoming Year 10 students from Carisbrooke College and Medina College (for a day) and future year 12 students (for a morning) from across the Island. Please make them feel welcome when they join us.
Tickets are still available for the Prom (Thursday 27 June) at Quay Arts. They cost £30 and include food, entertainment and the DJ. Make sure that you have bought your Prom tickets before the deadline on Friday 21 June. ‘Plus one’ tickets are also available – email or see Mr Mumford or Mr Cody to request these.
Thank you for making the student entrance a movement zone and always wearing your lanyards, thus improving the safeguarding of all students and staff.
Finally, on a safeguarding note, enjoy the IOW Festival if you are going next weekend. Make sure you look after yourself and your friends over that weekend; don’t leave someone alone or allow friends to make decisions that put themselves at risk or that are out of character. We are open as usual every day and you are expected to attend all lessons as normal.
Have a nice weekend.
Mr Mumford
