VI Form Blog - 17 January 2025

It has been another fantastic week at the VI Form with lots going on.
Year 12 and 13 have been busily completing some BTEC and vocational exams and Year 13 reports are being prepared to send home.
As a VI Form, our attendance stands at 88%. This is below the national average, so we are implementing lots of strategies to try and improve this. Attendance is very important to success: if you are not in lessons learning, you will not perform as well in exams. To support this, any student with attendance below 90% will receive a letter from us next week, indicating their current attendance and when we would like to see an improvement by. This won't be sent out to students we are already aware of having severe medical issues or we are already working with to improve.
Next week, the road between Church Litten and St John's Road will be closed, so please bear this in mind when trying to access or leave the VI Form premises.
On Wednesday we had the Vice Lord Lieutenant Brigadier Maurice Sheen CBE QVRM visit the VI Form and he commented about how impressive the facilities we have here are. This really is an excellent facility for students.
Finally, an email went out to parents this week regarding the legal name we hold for students and which will be printed on exam certificates. If you have not already replied to confirm this legal name, can you please do so as soon as possible.
Have a lovely weekend and I will look forward to seeing students on Monday.
