Head of School’s Blog – 24 May 2024
Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
Click here to see the Year 12 trial exams schedule. Individual timetables will be available for students, with rooms and seat numbers, after the half term break. Make sure that you are following the exam rules that have been explained in assemblies (you have your school ID, no phones, no headphones, no watches …) and arrive on time.
Further details of exam arrangements are available on our website.
Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) have to be supported by your subject teachers and are evidence based. Just because you had them at a previous school does not mean that they are automatically in place at VI Form. Speak to your teachers if you have any queries – these trial exams can also provide vital evidence of progress and EAA needs.
We are encouraging as many students as possible to organise three days of Work Experience after the trial exams (10, 11 & 12 July) and continue to build ‘Career Capital’ in the run up to leaving VI Form either for University, further education or the world of work. Universities or employers will ask for examples of leadership, work ethic, communication, resilience, teamwork, problem solving etc. The more experiences you have the better, it’s never too late to start.
Make sure revision resource creation is finished by the end of half term to allow time for the repeat, repeat, repeat phase of revision. Revision materials are available to all students from Main Reception.
Have a great half term break.
